What to Expect During Your First Visit

1. Paperwork

First, you will need to fill out a few forms prior to your appointment time. It is encouraged to bring the completed forms with you or to arrive 15 minutes early to fill them out in the waiting room. One of our hygienists will invite you back to your room where we will create your digital chart.

2. X-Rays

If you do not have X-rays that are up to date, we will take a set of X-rays so we can properly diagnose any issues that cannot be seen visually. Your hygienist will also measure your gums to screen you for periodontal disease.

3. Oral Exam

The dentist will review and discuss your X-rays and your dental and medical history. An oral exam will be performed to check your gums, teeth, and existing restorations while looking for signs of decay and oral cancer. If you have any oral health worries or fears, please let us know as your comfort and trust is important to us.

4. Teeth Cleaning

Your teeth cleaning may be completed at your initial visit or you may be scheduled for a follow-up visit(s) for a more thorough deep cleaning, depending on the condition of your teeth and gums.

5. Discuss Your Treatment Plan

Your dentist will discuss the comprehensive dental treatment plan developed specifically for you. Your treatment plan is designed to address problems that are bothering you now and may also identify others that could impact your long-term oral health. While your dentist will provide the expert guidance you deserve, you always have the final say in your treatment.

6. Address Questions or Concerns

After you’ve talked with your dentist, one of our knowledgeable patient coordinators will answer any questions or concerns you might have, including available payment options, how to maximize your insurance benefits, and scheduling your next visit. At this time, you will receive a copy of your dental treatment plan, which includes a price quote for your recommended treatments.

If you have any further questions or if there is anything you don’t understand, please call our office.

Paying for Your Dental Treatment

Our team will work with you on payment arrangements so that cost is never a deterrent in doing what is best for you or your family.

Insurance

We process most dental insurance plans. Please familiarize yourself with your insurance plan; paying close attention to your benefit maximums, deductibles, and covered percentages. Our staff will prepare all the necessary forms for your dental benefits. However, we remind you that your specific policy is an agreement between you and your insurance company.

Please know that you are responsible for your total obligation should your insurance benefits result in less coverage than anticipated. We do not render our services on the basis that insurance companies will pay all of our fees; we base our treatment on what is best for you.

Payment Options

Payment is expected at the time services are rendered, unless other arrangements have been made. This includes any copayments or deductibles (amount not covered by your insurance). If needed, we can work with you to create a financial arrangement that is tailored to meet your needs.

Our office accepts cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa, and CareCredit.
